Rejuvenate In the New Navigator!

No, seriously. The new, 5th-generation, 2025 Lincoln Navigator includes an immersive experience called rejuvenate, as well as several other interior tricks.

Lincoln displayed its new, fifth-generation, 2025 Lincoln Navigator at the 2025 Detroit Auto Show last week. And offered both the Brand Manager and Chief Engineer to join me for a chat about its latest luxury, full-size SUV.

Debuted in mid-August 2024, ahead of the also new 2025 Ford Expedition, the large SUV brothers share a lot, mechanically speaking. But both Scott Grandinett—Chief Engineer—and Randi Yassay—Brand Manager—for the Lincoln Navigator immediately wanted to talk about what lies inside.

Rejuvenate

Just like the new for 2024 Lincoln Nautilus, the main event lies just under the base of the windshield. The 2025 Navigator gets the same 48-inch screen. However, because its a much wider SUV, there’s room for speakers on either side of it before you reach the a-pillars. Also mimicking the Nautilus, Lincoln mounted an 11.1-inch screen beneath it in the center. It performs similarly in both Lincolns.

However, the Navigator is the first to offer a feature called Rejuvenate. It is a 5 or 10 minute long program that combines sound, scent, sight, and touch to give the driver a bit of relaxing privacy. Once initiated, the screen displays something peaceful, like waterfalls, as the seat reclines and engages in massage. Simultaneously, odor canisters emit pleasant scents into the cabin as music plays.

The first half of the session is meant to be calming, the second half starts bringing the seat more upright and begins the process to invigorate you. This is similar to what I experienced in an Mercedes-Benz S580 sedan a few years ago. but, if anything, Lincoln’s system offers a more immersive experience. To use Rejuvenate, the Navigator needs to be running.

Inside the Navigator

You also get something called pano mode, which allows you to project videos from apps like YouTube on the 48-in screen. Very cool.

Top-of-the-line models will get heated, ventilated, and massaging first and second row chairs. Super plush and comfortable. You also get two rows of wireless smartphone chargers. Furthermore, the second row also has some hidden storage underneath the console with all the seat controls. And all three rows get heated seats.

The Navigator seats seven as standard. However, if you wish, you can equip the Reserve trimmed SUVs to come with a bench second as a no cost option. With the third row bench, the Navigator will seat eight.

A bit of new Outside too

Generally speaking, the Navigator evolved from the outgoing models design. But went in the right direction to offer more modern style. Keeping with modern trends wheels sizes shot up again as well. Just like the top wheel offered on GM products, you can get a 24-inch wheel on the Navigator. But, actually, you choose from three different styles of 24-inch wheels.

Old school, want some sidewall? 22-inch wheels are smallest Lincoln offers. However, Mr. Grandinett assured me that despite the larger wheels, Lincoln put a lot of work into the rear suspension of the Navigator. He claims the fifth-generation SUV offers a superior ride than the predecessor. To that end, the Navigator comes standard with adaptive shock absorbers.

Furthermore, Lincoln claims vastly improved NVH, to make a much quieter, more isolated interior and enables speaking between the 1st and 3rd row much easier than before.

Lincoln also redesigned the liftgate and renamed it the Split Gate. Three-quarters of the liftgate rises in the traditional way, but one-quarter drops like a tailgate on an F-150. You can program the Split Gate to only open the top portion or the top and bottom portion simultaneously.

One Powertrain

Little changed under the hood. You still get a twin-turbocharged, 3.5-liter V-6 that pumps out 440 HP at 5850 rpm, 510 lb.-ft of torque at 3000 rpm. That connects to a 10-speed automatic transmission and then goes on to feed power to all-four wheels. The Navigator is standard four-wheel-drive.

And, just like the new Ford Expedition, there is no hybrid option. Which I find a shame. Ford has a fantastic hybrid option in the F-150. It’s called Powerboost. I reviewed and greatly enjoyed it.

Conclusion

Lincoln offers two trims of Navigator: Reserve and Black Label. The Reserve starts at $101,990 (including the $1995 destination charge) for the standard Navigator and $104,980 for the extended L. There are also several “themes” and packages to make for several variations of 2025 Navigator. Expect them to start to arrive at dealers in the Spring.

After my experience at the Auto Show, Lincoln definitely piqued my curiosity to get behind the wheel of the new Navigator and give it a full review, which I will share as soon as I get the chance.
