Toyota designed the 2025 Sienna Woodland minivan to feel a touch more off-road worthy. You get standard all-wheel-drive, a bit more ground clearance, and thick, all-weather floor mats inside.
Toyota wants to take this off-roading craze to an even wider scope of buyers in the form of this 2025 Toyota Sienna Woodland. The Woodland starts life as an XLE Sienna. It then receives standard all-wheel-drive, a 0.6-in (15 mm) ride height lift, a standard tow hitch, and an interior awash in thick rubber, all-weather floor mats. As a nice added touch, the mats have a forest imprinted on them, a land of wood you could say.
Do these features give the Sienna proper trail-hunting chops? Of course not. But, if you want to get a bit closer to a remote trailhead, or even feel more confidence maneuvering through several inches deep of wet snow in a parking lot, the Woodland Sienna provides.
For the latter, I definitely still recommend a good set of winter tires. The Woodland still rolls on all-season rubber. But it’s a set of 18-inch rubber, as opposed to the 20s bolted on to other minivan. trims.
And that’s just it. Minivan’s swallow so much stuff or people or both. Whatever adventure you decide to embark upon, bring the family.
powertrain
Like all 2025 Toyota Sienna’s the Woodland relies on a 2.5-liter, inline-four-cylinder hybrid engine to propel it around. And that includes an additional motor mounted on the rear axle to provide on-demand all-wheel-drive, no driveshaft involved.
The entire system delivers a total of 245 horsepower. The engine provides most of the power, 189 HP and 176 lb.-ft, but the main electric motor gets close, offering up to 180 HP and, actually, the most torque at 199 lb.-ft. The rear-axle motor only churns out 54 HP and 89 lb.-ft of torque. Slim compared the power in front, but enough to add traction, and confidence, when you need a bit more traction.
Expect your combined fuel economy to land somewhere in the 30s. Not bad.
Inside
Toyota puts a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster in the Woodland. Right next to that you get a second 12.3-inch center display. Heated seats will also keep front passenger backsides warm. Not to mention the plethera of usb ports and cupholder adorning all three rows.
Conclusion
Toyota first added the Woodland trim to its Sienna minivan for the 2022 model year. It’s nice to see how the brand carry’s on with such a machine. It’s potentially the perfect vehicle for someone who wishes for mild-off-roading with a heavy-duty family.
